Is Mick Dodge Really A
Legend Surviving in the
Olympic National Rain Forest?
The Legend of Mick Dodge first began in 1991 when he became the Barefoot Sensei of Washington's Olympic Hoh Rain Forest. Mick Dodge is portrayed on the National Geographic Channel as somewhat of a Mountain Man that doesn't just survive in the woods, but thrives working in harmony with Mother Nature. Has Mick Dodge "really" been running around the Olympic Peninsula barefoot practicing his martial art skills for the past 25 years. Or is the Legend of Mick Dodge just another fake or staged Reality Show using a very convincing actor? And if so, How much is Mick Dodge Worth and how much does he make per episode?

It doesn't take much researching Mick Dodge to realize that yes, He has been living in the Hoh Rain Forests (at least part time) for the past 25 years. Mick actually has three different terrains he lives throughout the year with the Olympic Rain Forest being one of them. Becoming a Legend as the Barefoot Sensei and practicing his martial art skills using sticks and stones is also a very real part of Mick Dodge's everyday life. In fact, Mick Dodge and one of his partners, Jacquie Chandler, started an outdoor fitness program called The EarthGym dating back to 1994.
While Mick Dodge does indeed do a lot of things in real life as portrayed on his Reality Show, He'll also be the first one to admit several things have been re-created from the past.

Mick Dodge found his way out of the Olympic Mountains and onto a Reddit QnA approximately a year ago with some rather interesting answers to a few of the questions. Dodge starts all his responses with the word "Yoish" learned from his sensei while practicing in Okinawa, Japan. If you've watched any episodes of "The Legend of Mick Dodge", you know Mick like's to kid around, especially with the camera crew.

In one particular episode, Dodge was portrayed as if he was starving in the woods and desperately needed to find something to eat. Low and behold Mick runs across a nice big plop of Elk crap. Mick acting like he just found a nice big juicy steak, (although a little mushy) tries convincing the camera crew (and the viewers) it might be filled with fresh larvae eggs or maybe even a few maggots. It was an instant rating's hit for National Geographic Channel as no one could believe this rising Reality TV Star was really thinking about eating a little Elk chit and maggots on National TV. Mick set the record straight in the Reddit QnA in what was "really going on behind the scene's" on this Reality Show simply by saying:

"Yoish! No I was not going to eat elk sh*t. I was trying to get the camera crew to eat it".

LOL, I bet Mick thought that was funny. So did I.
